DARE TO BE SCARED at Lake Forest’s 4th Annual Haunt at Heritage Hill on Friday, October 21. From 5:30 to 10 pm, you can visit our Haunted Schoolhouse, scare zone, and fright maze. Don’t be alarmed if you are greeted by a rather monstrous looking creature! Admission at the door is $5. Ages 12 and older please.

The Adventure continues this year at our Autumn Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 22 at Heritage Hill. From 4 to 9 pm, kids can play games, visit Nectar’s Pumpkin Patch and a Harry Potter Schoolhouse, trick-or-treat in costume, and see a live action Pirates Adventure show! Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under.

Fun Lake Forest Activities for June, 2011

Coyote Brush Hike
Saturday, June 11
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Get some great exercise and take a hike! The Coyote Brush Hike, moderate in difficulty, is approximately 3 miles in length and is open to participants 10 years and older. The hike will feature panoramic views, deeply forested canyons, and plenty of wildlife.

We will meet at 9 am at Whiting Ranch Park and hike until noon. Pre-registration is necessary and can be done online, by mail-in, or by walk-in at City Hall. A fee of $5 per hike participant includes a snack and bottled water. Parking is $3 per vehicle the day of the hike.

Riverbed Cleanup and Environmental

Awareness Day
Saturday, June 11
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Join the Skatepark community as we clean up the riverbed and trails adjacent to the Skatepark. In exchange for your time and energy, you’ll receive a free BBQ lunch, drink, and an opportunity prize ticket for some great donated prizes. You can also bring in your recyclable cans and the individual with the most cans will win a new skateboard!!! This is an all ages event and a great time for families or individuals.

Lake Forest Excursion to Fort MacArthur Museum & Ports of Call Village – San Pedro

ADULTS/SENIORS – Tuesday, March 22 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. 

The Fort MacArthur Museum, established in 1985, is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the history of Fort MacArthur, a U.S. Army post which guarded the Los Angeles harbor from 1914 to 1974. After a trip to the museum, the next stop is Ports of Call Village – an authentic New England-style seaside village where you will have an opportunity to shop and have lunch on your own (or bring a sack lunch). Note: This excursion involves excessive walking.
